1. Who we are
NotifyDriver is operated by:
NotifyDriver Ltd
Registered office: 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom
Company number: TBC
Email: support@notifydriver.com
Website: notifydriver.com
2. The service
NotifyDriver is a vehicle alert service. Subscribers place a QR code sticker on their vehicle. When someone scans the QR code, they can choose a preset alert (for example, “your lights are on”) and we notify the subscriber by email.
Important: NotifyDriver is not an emergency service. We do not guarantee that someone will scan your QR code, that an alert will arrive in time, or that an alert will prevent damage, theft, towing, or any other loss. You should always use common sense and contact the emergency services where appropriate.
3. Eligibility
To use NotifyDriver you must be 18 or over and legally capable of entering into a contract. The service is currently aimed at UK users, though we may expand internationally.
4. Your account
When you create an account, you agree to:
- provide accurate information (including vehicle registration numbers you have the right to manage),
- keep your login details secure and not share them, and
- notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably suspect unauthorised use or a breach of these Terms.
5. Subscription, trial, and billing
5.1 Free trial
New subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. You get immediate access when you sign up. A valid payment method is required via Stripe, but you will not be charged during the trial period.
We will send you a reminder email before your trial ends. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid monthly plan.
5.2 Monthly billing
After the trial, you will be charged £4.99 per month. Your subscription renews automatically each month on the anniversary of your first payment date.
5.3 Payments
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. You can update your payment method at any time via your dashboard or the Stripe billing portal.
5.4 Price changes
If we change the subscription price, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
5.5 Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may retry. If payment remains outstanding, we may suspend your access until the issue is resolved. We will notify you by email.
6. How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to the Billing section of your dashboard.
- Click Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
We will send you a cancellation confirmation email, typically within 24 hours. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again after that.
If you cannot access your account, you can also cancel by emailing support@notifydriver.com.
7. Cooling-off period and refunds
7.1 Your legal right to cancel (cooling-off)
If you are a UK consumer and you sign up online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because NotifyDriver provides immediate access to the service, we will ask you to acknowledge this at sign-up. If you cancel within the cooling-off period after using the service, a proportionate charge may apply for the service already provided.
7.2 Trial cancellations
If you cancel during your free trial before your first payment is taken, you will not be charged at all.
7.3 Refunds after payment
We do not typically provide refunds for partial subscription periods once a payment has been taken. Your access continues until the end of the billing period. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact support@notifydriver.com and we will investigate.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
7.4 Model cancellation form
A model cancellation form is provided at the end of these Terms, as required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You are not required to use it — cancelling via your dashboard or by email is equally valid.
8. QR stickers
If your subscription includes a physical QR sticker:
- We will dispatch it to the delivery address you provide. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
- You are responsible for placing the sticker safely and legally (for example, not obstructing your view while driving).
- Stickers are linked to your NotifyDriver account. If your subscription ends, alerts from that sticker will stop working. If you resubscribe, you can reactivate it.
- If a sticker arrives damaged or defective, contact us and we will arrange a replacement. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights in relation to goods.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use NotifyDriver to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone,
- attempt to identify, track, or share the personal details of vehicle owners or members of the public,
- submit false or malicious alerts,
- interfere with the service (for example, scraping data, probing security, or bypassing rate limits),
- use the service for any unlawful purpose.
We apply rate limits and automated controls to protect users from abuse. Repeated or serious misuse may result in suspension or termination of your account.
10. Vehicle data (DVLA/DVSA)
We use UK government data services (DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and DVSA MOT History API) to provide vehicle information features. This data is provided by the government and we do not guarantee its accuracy or availability. These services may change or become unavailable without notice.
11. Service availability
We aim to keep NotifyDriver available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to suspend access temporarily for maintenance, security updates, or other operational reasons. Where possible, we will give advance notice of planned downtime.
12. Intellectual property
NotifyDriver and all related branding, software, and content are owned by NotifyDriver Ltd (or licensed to us). You may not copy, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the service or any part of it without our written permission.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence,
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or
- anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Subject to the above, and to the extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the total subscription fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by third-party services (including Stripe, DVLA, DVSA, or your internet provider).
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms (for example, through misuse or abuse). We will act reasonably and, where practical, give you notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue before terminating.
You can close your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to request account deletion.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email and update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may cancel your subscription.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
17. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and NotifyDriver Ltd in relation to the service.
- Severability: if any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
- Waiver: a failure by us to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: we may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms (for example, in the event of a business transfer). You may not assign yours without our written consent.
