About NotifyDriver Ltd
NotifyDriver Ltd is a UK company that provides the NotifyDriver service. These Legal Information terms apply to users worldwide. We operate under UK law and the UK GDPR (as incorporated into the Data Protection Act 2018) and apply equivalent protections for users outside the UK where possible.
Privacy Policy
Data collected
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, and optional phone number.
- Vehicle data: number plate, public QR identifier, and settings you choose.
- Alerts: alert type, message content, timestamps, and delivery status.
- Billing data: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers (card details are handled by Stripe).
- Email delivery data: delivery events and metadata from our email provider (Brevo).
- Technical data: device/browser data, request logs, and security/abuse prevention data (which may include IP address or a hashed IP).
How we use data
- Provide the service, including QR scans, alerts, and account access.
- Send email alerts and account messages (and WhatsApp/SMS where enabled).
- Operate subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
- Protect the platform from abuse, fraud, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data.
Lawful basis
- Contract: to provide your account, alerts, and subscription.
- Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the service and prevent abuse.
- Legal obligation: for accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Consent: where required (for example, optional communications).
Anonymous QR scans
QR scans are designed to be anonymous for the scanner. The public scan page does not require an account, and we do not show scanner identity to vehicle owners. If a scanner submits an alert, we store the alert message and time so the owner can be notified. If a scanner includes personal information in a message, it becomes part of the alert.
Plans and geographic scope
Starter is available worldwide and provides email alerts and QR scan functionality. Standard is available worldwide and adds additional features, including DVLA data for UK vehicles only. DVLA access is UK-only and depends on UK vehicle data availability.
User rights
You have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. We provide data export in your account settings.
ICO complaint rights
If you are in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Users outside the UK may also have rights to complain to local regulators.
Terms & Conditions
Service description
NotifyDriver allows vehicle owners to receive alerts from people who scan a QR code and submit a message (for example, "lights on" or "window open"). Alerts are delivered by email, and may also be delivered by WhatsApp or SMS if those options are enabled. NotifyDriver is not an emergency service.
QR usage rules
- Only place QR codes on vehicles you own or are authorized to use.
- Do not use the service to harass, threaten, or spam others.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the platform or bypass security controls.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed and managed via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. If you cancel, access typically continues until the end of the billing period. Prices and taxes may change; we will provide notice where required.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and may be unavailable or delayed at times. To the extent permitted by law, NotifyDriver Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
